BIO…Jenny is a third generation Californian. Growing up in a suburb of San Francisco provided the opportunity to act at a young age in productions at the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre. Hooked early on, Jenny continued to study acting at the American Conservatory Theatre. During high school Jenny was chosen as a state scholar of theatre and music and attended the California State Summer School of the Arts at Cal Arts in Valencia. UCLA provided her next training ground where she experienced the all consuming life of a theatre major, earning a degree from the School of Theatre, Film and Television. Theatre has always been an important part of Jenny’s artistic career and so she spent a summer as an apprentice at the Williamstown Theatre Festival where she got to learn from masters like Joanne Woodward, Blythe Danner, and Dominic Chianese. Jenny has a love of traveling and so it seemed fitting to spend a year after college living and studying in London (check out www.bunac.org). She saw just about every production there at the time and managed to backpack through 13 countries. Upon returning to the states Jenny was a member of the ACT Summer Training Congress. Now in LA, Jenny has had numerous roles in a variety of theatre productions from classics like The Cherry Orchard to more contemporary works like Extremities. Many Indie films and a few commercials have added to her repertoire. One project, It’s A Wonderful City, was nominated for an Emmy for Best Cable Production. In 2006 she briefly switched hats and assistant directed “All My Sons” at the Geffen Playhouse. Jenny is currently studying with Jeff Perry at Steppenwolf West and is a proud member of SAG and The Actors’ Network. |
